Iphone 14 Launch Plagued By Major Apple Store Errors; Delivery Estimates Slip To October
The launch of the iPhone 14 has not been at all smooth. Both the Apple Store and the Apple Store Online are having major problems this morning. This includes server errors, failed trade-ins, double orders, and a lot more. At the same time, many models of the iPhone 14 have already been pushed back until mid-October.
As usual, both the Apple Store app and the Apple Online Store were down all night as Apple prepared for iPhone 14 pre-orders. Both options were to be back on the table at 5 a.m. PT/8 a.m. ET. Some people were able to use both at the same time, while others had to wait. By the time some of us went to the Apple Store online or downloaded the Apple Store app, pre-order shipping times for many configurations had already been moved to late September.
But that’s only the beginning. The check-out process has not been reliable at all today. People who bought an iPhone 14 complained on Twitter about big mistakes on the Apple website and in the Apple Store app. I, like many of the other people who work at 9to5Mac, have had the same kinds of problems.
A Recap Of Some Of The Problems:
- Error messages come up during the checkout process at the Apple Store.
- Error messages show up on Apple Trade-In features.
- The Apple Store Online site goes to “Page Not Found” when you try to go to it.
- “Cannot connect to the Apple Store,” says the Apple Store app. To get to the Apple Store, you have to connect to the Internet.”
- Carrier approvals through the Apple Store aren’t working right, and error messages are being shown.
- Even though they were told they’d get it on launch day, some users are seeing their delivery dates get pushed back after they’ve placed their order.
- Some users end up with multiple orders because the Apple Store says the order failed when it was actually completed.
- Not surprisingly, a lot of the carriers are having the same problems. Since pre-orders started, T-ordering Mobile’s system has been completely down, and both AT&T and Verizon’s websites have had problems.
- Not everyone has been affected by these Apple Store problems. Some people were able to get through right away and pre-order their iPhone 14 without any problems. That’s why the internet is so great.
Even with all of these problems, the number of iPhone 14s is already getting low. Almost every configuration of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max is now on backorder until October. Since there aren’t as many of the new space black colour as there are of the other colours, it seems to be the most popular.
How To Pre-Order Iphone 14?
Now that pre-orders are open, you can get your shiny new iPhone 14 from the Apple Store app or the Apple Store online. As usual, the Apple Store went offline this morning to get ready for pre-orders, and it is slowly coming back online. The Apple Store app is the best way to get things done quickly, since the online store usually comes back online a few minutes later.
You can pre-order the iPhone 14 from a number of different carriers, including the big three in the United States and the Apple Store. Many of these companies also have trade-in deals that are pretty good.
The best things about the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the improvements to the main camera, the new front-facing camera with autofocus, the ability to connect to satellites, and the Crash Detection feature. The new iPhone 14 Plus model is probably the biggest change. It gives people a way to get the biggest iPhone screen for less than $1,000.
- Here’s how the price of the iPhone 14 breaks down:
- The 128GB iPhone 14 starts at $799.
- The 128GB iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899.
- The 128GB iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999.
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 128GB starts at $1099
On Friday, September 16, the first iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max pre-orders will be delivered. On Friday, October 7, the first iPhone 14 Plus pre-orders will be delivered.
